New Years Eve Summit Climb
It is becoming a tradition to light a beacon on New Years Eve, this year we had 8 participants, and the event for the most part worked very well. We wish everyone a great and active year.

The Years Last Glacier Climb
On the last day in October we climbed the glacier to investigate a new route. It was very hard going, but we managed it. Unfortunately poor light and adverse weather conditions meant an “about turn” after a couple of hours of kilometres on the ice.
Øksfjord glacier receives few visitors at this time of year, but we made the trip. On the decent we got the chance to try a little Telemark skiing, but for the most part it was steep with rock strewn slopes, risky, but we made it down to the hot tub and good food

Glacier Tour to Øksfjordjøkelen
Yet another fine glacier climb, we decided to go up despite changeable weather in the morning. Something we did not regret! With beautiful weather, and a memorable experience for all. Bre og vandring will arrange regular glacier days next year.

It was a great climb onto Øksfjordjøkelen, sunshine and challenging for the participants. The wonderful blue ice showed the glacier at its best, as we progressed toward an area with many cracks in the ice where everyone got the chance to try ice climbing.

Møllersskjelven 25 degrees Celsius and a marvellous summer weather, down hill skiing for the first time.
The start: Suborg at sea level. 4 men, ski enthusiasts and a horde of mosquitoes climbed the first 450meters before reaching snow. Our airborne companions retreated and we continued to 920meters in peace. It was a 35-45 degree climb, hard work, but on reaching the summit we were rewarded with breath taking views of the Øksfjord glacier, Troms County and far into Finnmark. Hard summer snow under foot, and a few remains of avalanche, made an exciting (and for some a little frightening) decent to 450m. A short trek back to our base for a beer and an ice-cream.

In October 2004 film crews from Hollywood came to Øksfjordjøkelen
to film “The Day After Tomorrow”, and introduced 500 million
viewers to Finnmarks highest point. For his expertise our guide Tore
Kalstrøm was invited as one of the instructors. Our guests, at
our request were flown to the ice cap where they spent the night in
marvellous weather and experienced a unique arctic adventure.
